Tim, Linde en Jasmijn kijken uit over de ruwe kust van Biarritz, aan de Golf van Biskaje. Even uitwaaien na een week reizen. Een dag na Pasen wordt vanuit Groningen de weg naar het zuiden ingezet. Op naar Frankrijk. Een ideaal moment voor Linde om ziek te worden. Henk moet vooral wennen aan het fulltime reizen in plaats van werken. Onderweg klettert de regen met bakken tegelijk uit de hemel. 9 graden, dan weer 8. Tim noemt terloops dat hij wel een afstandsbediening op zijn verjaardag wil. De reden is helder: ‘Om de regen mee uit te zetten.’ Op de tweede dag heeft Linde bijna 40 graden koorts. Een plaatselijke dokter schrijft een kuur voor. Slapen gaat de eerste nacht moeizaam in het truckershotel. En in het zakelijke hotel idem, een nacht later. De vakantiemodus is ingesteld, maar de eerste dagen nog niet actief. Even wennen. Dan maar kamperen. De caravan loopt echter vast op een verlaten grasveld. 4000 kilo in een sompig veld. We hadden het kunnen weten. Een vrachtwagen met dikke banden brengt twee dagen erna redding. Na 1500 kilometer is badplaats en (lucht)kuuroord Biarritz gelukkig een veilig baken. Een baken van rust ook. De eerste nachten in de caravan zijn achter de rug. Het nieuwe huisje voelt vertrouwd. Het zwembad net zo. Tim kan al bijna zwemmen. En lang leve de kidsclub. Op naar Spanje!
